Calling all Twilight fans: the new and shiny adult version! With dirty bits!

My beef with this book is that it needed some good editing. A good couple hundred pages is basically them roaming around Matthew’s castle. “We read books. Then we rode horses. Then we sat in the library and read more books”. MOVE ON already. The end showed promise though, I’m cautiously optomistic about book 2.
I was pissed when it ended because I wanted to see England and all the story possibilities! The historical stuff is probably the most interesting to me, which makes sense, because isn’t the author a historical researcher?
Yeah I think she is. I get a little bit pissy when it comes to trilogies; if you’re going to do 3 books and the first one is nearly 600 pages, you better have something to say. And she did quite a bit of the time, but it wasn’t always relevant and I thought it dragged in some areas.
