CBR III Review #96: The Revisionist by Thomas Mullen
If you could go back and change the past would you? Yes you could stop September 11 or World War II, but what would happen to the world you currently live in? If you stopped September 11, 2001 from happening would the world’s future be different?
Zed is from the future. It’s a future where there is no real crime, no hunger, and no war. His mission is to make sure that traumatic past events occur as they have all ready occurred at any cost. Even though Zed comes from a “perfect” time others are not so happy with the future and keep trying to come back in time and stop major traumatic events from happening.
Zed’s current mission is to make sure that The Great Conflagration occurs. An event that is not 100 percent described but sounds like an apocalyptic event of epic proportions.
The Revisionist creates an insanely creative premise and I enjoyed the majority of the novel I just felt like Mullen left a lot of unanswered questions on the table…but I would read it again. Mostly because I’m a dork who loves the implications of time travel.
